“The world remembers those who dare to dream.” The introductory scene of Sealed Stories, connecting the physical and digital narrative to the shared universe.
From the physical page to the living digital universe
The basic idea of Sealed Stories is not to create a website promoting a book, but to expand the boundaries of the physical narrative with optional digital layers. The QR codes in the Sealed Tales novel do not send the reader to a mandatory application to understand the main story; The novel maintains its integrity on its own. If the reader wishes, he can open the seal on the relevant page and move on to additional experiences such as mini stories, illustrations, short audio recordings or small games. This decision preserves the imagination of physical reading while offering a deeper world to the curious user.
The digital platform transforms this connection from one-time bonus content into a permanent role-playing ecosystem. The user can explore the geography and history of Animaeris, research species and classes, create a character, attend sessions run by the Storyteller, and document their adventures. The inclusion of the strongest stories in the official canon transforms the player from a visitor consuming ready-made content into a participant who leaves his mark on the history of the world.
Product positioning: A more hybrid structure than MMORPG
Sealed Stories has MMORPG behavior with persistent world, character identity, community and shared history; but the backbone of the live product is based on tabletop role-playing and Storyteller sessions rather than the classic real-time online battle loop. For this reason, I positioned the product more accurately as a physical-digital TTRPG and persistent community platform. This definition keeps the book and desktop experience visible and does not diminish online systems such as forums, profiles, world atlas, and canon.
The main product narrative is established in three stages: “Create Your Legend”, “Live the Story” and “Become Canon”. The first phase explains the character system, the second explains real-time collaboration shaped by dice and imagination, and the third explains the addition of stories born in sessions to the history of Animaeris. Thus, the marketing page does not just count features; It establishes the user journey from physical object to digital identity to shared world memory.
Fantastic brand system and atmosphere
I kept the visual system away from neon effects in generic game landings or groups of cards that look similar to each other. Dark leather and burnt parchment tones make up the main surface; bronze-gold lines are used in signs that convey a sense of navigation, choice and ritual. Heavy serif headings, small labels with close letter spacing, seal and star symbols, cartographic circles and framed panels reinforce the ancient archival character of the product.
In the Hero area, the fantasy creature illustration is not just the background, but the main object that establishes the scale of Animaeris in the first second. The logo acts like a heraldic coat of arms in the top center; World, Knowledge and Forum links are balanced on the left, while login and account creation actions are balanced on the right. As the user progresses through the page, the chronology, stanza, genres, and character system switch to different editorial compositions, but the same material language is maintained. Ambient music control is a separate atmosphere layer that the user can turn on or off, instead of decorative autoplay.
The map is not a background image: it's an exploration interface that works with search, location list, marker selection, zoom, and canonical lore links.
Interactive World Atlas
World Atlas transforms the geography of Animaeris into a product surface to browse rather than a wiki page to read. Locations can be searched and the canonical location list browsed in the left panel; Each region is marked with different symbols on the main map. Points such as the Altar of Heroes, Arkanut Academies, Dakat Desert, Tree of Knowledge, Bubble City-Prima or Timeless Pyramid are not just names, but interactive entries that lead to their own brief description and lore detail.
The map layer has a real atlas anatomy with zoom percentage, zoom controls and direction indicator. The marker and the left list use the same information model; The user can make visual exploration on the map, as well as make targeted searches by name or description. The “Full World Lore” link brings geographic exploration into the realm of archival lore. Thus, the setting becomes a common reference system for campaign preparation, character history and community theories, rather than just the backdrop for the story.
The canonical genre archive organizes world knowledge into a readable index and detailed entry system.
Lore architecture: turning world knowledge into playable data
The information field is not an encyclopedia of plain texts; An archive that organizes genre, geography, history and system information into canonical indexes. On the Bodies and Lineages screen, 15 species are presented as numbered entries. Babar is distinguished by the clan and cornerstone system, Elf by the elemental bond, Geberik by the interchangeable body parts, Lunari by the seven-lunar system, Simer by the crystal body and collective consciousness. Each short description opens into a detailed lore record, supporting both quick browsing and deep reading.
This information architecture is directly related to the character creation system. The platform features 12 core types, 8 class archetypes, 24 backgrounds, and more than 200 spell combinations in its main narrative; The attribute system defines not only the combat power but also the spiritual and narrative characteristics of the character on the axes of Body, Ability, Intelligence and Abstract. The choice of genre and background therefore shapes not only the avatar appearance, but the player's cultural engagement with the world, their abilities, and their role-playing possibilities.
Storyteller sessions and permanent canon
The digital layer of Sealed Stories does not end with the single-player character form. Game sessions are described as live narratives run by Storyteller, where dice and collective decisions change the outcome. The player's character is not just a stat sheet; permanent identity that connects choices at the physical table, history in your digital profile, and visibility within the community.
The “Be Canon” model is the most unique part of this experience. Players can document their adventures; The selected stories can touch on the official history of Animaeris. This incorporates community contribution into curatorial world-building without turning user-generated content into an uncontrolled wiki. The universe opened by the author in the physical novel is played jointly in the desktop session and archived on the digital platform, turning into history for subsequent players to discover.
Community layer; It brings together campaign discussions, lore theories, rules, and player interaction in the same universe interface.
Community, forum and marketplace layer
The forum area establishes the social backbone of the product. Users can navigate through campaigns, world knowledge, rules or off-topic categories; can search for topics and use newest, latest activity, most viewed or most liked rankings. Each discussion is displayed with author role, date, views, replies, likes, and recent activity. While reading the content is public, creating a topic and participating in the discussion requires an account.
Having News and Marketplace tabs on the same artboard doesn't limit the community model to just the message board. A structure is being established where campaign announcements, system developments and physical/digital products of the universe can meet under the same identity. The forum does not visually transform into a standalone SaaS dashboard; It acts like a guild archive inside Animaeris, with bronze lines, serif headings, seal icons and dark surfaces.
Language, voice and access preferences
The live experience carries multiple languages, including Turkish, via URL and visible language selector. The user does not lose the language context in the World, Information, Forum, login and account creation flows. Keeping the language control on a fixed surface rather than hiding it in the footer is important in a product containing special names and dense lore text; The player can maintain his current route while reviewing the same canonical recording in a different language.
There is a separate volume knob and level control for ambient music. The default experience does not greet the user with sound they cannot control; Music can be turned on if desired and the volume can be adjusted. This small decision strikes the balance between cinematic atmosphere and web usability. Maintaining the same navigation and preference controls on surfaces of different density, such as interactive maps, long lore texts and forums, prevents the platform from feeling like a fragmented collection of microsites.
Trust, identity and platform boundaries
The account system collects characters, profiles, forum posts, lore contributions and personal preferences under a common identity. The live NDA states that the authentication and storage layer runs on Supabase, access is limited by Row Level Security policies, and passwords are not stored in plaintext. While public characters or forum content can be viewed by the community, account deletion, data export and correction rights are also clearly included in the product agreement.
In this portfolio work, I re-observed the live home page, interactive Grownia atlas, canonical species archive and forum on the desktop. Since the `/Users/tora/Foundry/04_LAB/Projects/Apps/sealedstories` folder provided by the user is currently empty, I did not claim stack or test through the source code; I kept the case narrative limited to vivid, verifiable product behavior and the published QR experience of the physical novel. For me, Sealed Stories is a hybrid product effort where branding, world-building, physical release, tabletop role-playing, and persistent digital community merge into one narrative system.
